my scrapbook and some scraps

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I promised those of you who wanted to see some of my left-handed skills, a couple of photos. And I delievered, rather crappily. Like I said in the previous post, I'm still getting my suitcases and stuff ready to leave for Yale. Anyway, I was looking around the disgusting tornado that is called my room, more like a barnyard, and felt the urge to pick up my pencil amidst the chaos I call clothes.. and shoes ... and pointy objects in my bed that stabbed me in the ass and scarred me, and I drew this. Well, not all of this, just the last Nameless and Faceless bit. This 4 minute shading was just me playing around with the idea, which is why it looks like that.
I should tell an abrupt story. "Nameless and Faceless" came about during an art stint that I wasn't really thinking about, but just created in a couple minutes with some paints that were old. I got offered dough right after I finished it, and I didn't think it was all that great. I still don't think it's all that great. Toting the big ass painting home I got stopped and asked questions, which made me want to keep my shit even more. That morbid black, red, and white painting is what "N&M" should look like. It's a prototype I suppose, that still needs work if I'm going to make anything of it. My mom, bless her heart, actually likes it. Would you believe it? So, hopefully, this bit explains my last post's crazy bit.
PS. My room is my scrapbook. I did a watercolor black tree mural on the wall a couple years ago. Part of the tree and some of the bird's are in one of the photos. It's still a WIP- it was just some dicking around, but it's starting to fade.. Maybe I'll do a room post later :)
these are all beautiful.
the nameless & faceless pencil drawing sort of reminds me of 'The Pale Man' in Pans Labyrinth (i love that movie).
whenever i draw, i always find it really strange to draw eyes. i think its weird i usually cover them up with a small thin bar of card or tape or something.
oh and YOU ARE AMAZING. SERIOUSLY.
and UGH I REALLY WISH I WAS A BOOK PERSON BUT I JUST DONT TEND TO READ A LOT. the ones i do i LOVE and i read them over and over again. my favourite book is actually Tracey Emins autobiography. and im reading a collection of Hans Christian Anderson fairytales which always used to scare me as a kid (sometimes i do my best to remain as juvenile as possible). :) how about you?
We have an artist in our midst. The faceless ones are especially appealing from an artistic standpoint. Have a nice weekend;-)
Such gorgeous works of art you have here,
the sketch of the nameless, faceless woman reminds me of something my mum once painted.
She painted this big beautiful picture of a naked woman without a face, which she called 'nameless faceless love'
We later on changed it to 'Nameless Faceless Betty'
She wasn't too thrilled with the idea!
:D
